BIOGRAPHY
Rida’s work has been recognized for excellence in public relations and communications by the Public Relations Society of America and the Public Relations Society of America New York Chapter. She was named one of PRSA New York’s inaugural “15 Under 35” Award winners, which honors the NY public relations community’s foremost emerging talent. Rida also led campaigns that won multiple Big Apple Awards from the PRSA New York Chapter in 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014 as well as two Silver Anvil Awards of Excellence from PRSA National in 2014. In 2020 and 2021, she was recognized as a Ragan’s Top Woman in Communications and PRNews Top Woman in PR in the mentorship category. She was recognized by Crain’s New York Business as a Notable Leader in Marketing, Advertising and PR in 2023 and 2024, by City & State on its Responsible 100 list in 2023 and New York Business Journal as a Woman of Influence in 2024.
Rida previously served on the Young Professionals Advisory Board for the Public Relations Society of America. Since 2016, she has served as a judge for its annual Big Apple Awards competition.
Rida has spearheaded national and international media campaigns, local grassroots efforts and creative advertising, gala events, film screenings and arts festivals and managed crisis communications campaigns for clients such as the Trayvon Martin family and Foundation, United Way of New York City, the Heather Heyer Foundation, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, the David Lynch Foundation, Dictionary.com and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
Before joining TASC, she served in leadership and development positions at national youth organization Young Muslims and managed communications and social media for the Islamic Circle of North America, one of the nation’s leading American Muslim organizations.
Rida is known for her endless curiosity, passion for hyphen placement and deep love of maps, science and memes. Her passion for design and photography and keen eye for detail inform her ability to think creatively and offer a fresh and unique approach to the ever-evolving public relations industry. In her downtime, Rida can be found hand lettering, baking or buried in non-fiction reads.
Rida has a BA in English literature from Brooklyn College.
