PHASE 2 CONSULTING PARTNERS WITH MASTERCARD FOR ANNUAL DINNER HONORING THE NUL BOARD OF TRUSTEES

On July 25, 2019, National Urban League (NUL) Board Trustees Tim Murphy and Lamell McMorris, and Mastercard in partnership with Phase 2 Consulting, hosted a fireside chat at a private dinner honoring the NUL Board of Trustees and the Indianapolis Urban League Board of Trustees during the NUL’s 2019 Annual Conference, Getting 2 Equal: United Not Divided, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The annual conference hosts the nation's leading political, business and community leaders to enable participants to gather, share ideas, and discover solutions to issues that have historically plagued underserved urban communities across the country. The goal of the conference is to arm each participant with real-world solutions to urban challenges and empower attendees to be change-leaders in their respective communities.

Accordingly, the fireside chat, “Unlocking Potential: Infrastructure, Innovation and Inclusion,” with remarks by Mastercard’s General Counsel Tim Murphy, focused on ways in which to provide services to residents in an efficient manner, promote continued growth and job creation in a rapidly changing economy, and ensure that urbanization is inclusive in nature. In addition, the conversation highlighted how transformative partnerships across public, private and non-profit sectors can close the growing divide by ensuring digital economies work for everyone, everywhere.

The fireside chat was moderated by Arturo Franco, Vice President of Data & Insights at the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, and panelists included Marc Morial, President of the National Urban League; Dorri McWhorter, CEO of the YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago; and Jim Casselberry, Chief Investment Officer at 4S Bay Partners, LLC. The audience included around 150 leaders and stakeholders in business, civil and human rights, education, and the public sector.
